"Patches and Shadow"
Summer returned today for a spectacular day of wamth and no wind. The conditions were perfect for beach painting. I attemped this two days ago, but was driven off by the high winds and cool temps. I was only able to stand an hour to start a painting, so today I will go back to the location and finish. For a Saturday, the population was light. I set up and painted for three hours total. During this time, many friendly, curious viewers came over to see what I was doing. many young children were also very curious and loved to see someone paint. One little boy commented that I was "just like VanGogh, but without all those swirls." I had many conversations and shared contact information. One especially was interested in buying the painting and her friends son asked if I would e-mail it to him. I was flattered for sure. It turns out that Hollie will purchase it before I leave for Portland.
